Meet the contenders
Gemma Dobkin & Grant Mercer The big day: 9th January Ceremony and reception venue: The Vineyard at Stockcross, Newbury Theme: Champagne Colour scheme: Black and gold |
| |
The highlights "A pleasant surprise for us was that, despite the 18 inches of snow that fell during the week of our wedding, all of our guests still managed to attend and everything went according to plan," says Gemma. "I'll never forget the moment I walked down the aisle. Having played classical music for an hour to warm our guests up, the string quartet began to play My Girl by The Temptations. Their modern take on the song created a very emotional setting. It was perfect."

Anna & Ian The big day: 9th April Ceremony and reception venue: Wasing Park, Aldermaston Theme: Garden barn wedding Colour scheme: Sky blue, antique pink and cream
| |
The highlights "Needless to say, our ceremony was wonderful. We had readings from close friends and family," recalls Anna. "Two of our friends performed a Bob Dylan song. It was so beautiful, it reduced many people to tears. "The most memorable moment was at the end of the day. As we sat in our beautiful room, we watched the sun come up over the stunning Berkshire hills. It was lovely to reflect on everything that had happened. It's a moment that will stay with us forever. "A great surprise on the day was the weather. It was a lovely warm and sunny day, with the odd fluffy white cloud. After 15 months of planning, it was wonderful to see everything come together and everybody enjoying themselves."

Cait & Jamie The big day: 2nd May Ceremony and reception venue: Stoke Place, Stoke Poges Colour scheme: Cornflower blue and cream |
| |
The highlights "We had an amazing band called The Hype perform in the evening," says Cait. "They created an electric atmosphere, and some of our family members who are usually very conservative let their hair down and took to the dancefloor. "Our photographer Nigel Chapman was amazing and someone we would highly recommend. We have some fantastic photographs which we will treasure for life. "Cait made a surprise speech, as her father had passed away when she was young. She felt it was important to say a few words about her mother because she'd always been a very special person in her life," says Jamie. "There were a few happy tears shed."

Lucy & Rob The big day: 30th May Ceremony venue: St Mary's Church, Thatcham Reception venue: The Great House at Sonning Theme: Traditional Colour scheme: Claret
| |
The highlights "Our first dance was to a romantic song by Newton Falkner, or so the guests thought," says Lucy. "After the first minute the track switched to a Black Lace Classic, Superman. It was a brilliant way to get the party started, and all our guests joined in. "As we arrived at Sonning we were greeted with a little surprise. The scarecrow festival was underway and among the assortment of scarecrows, there were three effigies of our illustrious politicians, Cameron, Clegg and Osborne. It was a funny moment that we will always remember."
